The great meteorological forces combined and brought us our first big snowstorm of Winter 2012/2013, and it was a doozy! We ended up with about 2 feet of snow, but some areas got up to 40 inches. Massachusetts instituted a travel ban for 24 hours to let the plows do their work, but we weren't planning on going anywhere anyways. We hunkered down and prepared for fun in the snow!
Friday night we did a little painting.
First glance in the morning before putting on all the snow clothes to go outside!
Nathan standing in front of the opened garage door, checking out how deep the snow is!
View of the house in all that snow.
Making our way up the road.
Daddy plowing a path in the driveway.
A little warmer and sunnier on Sunday, checking out the snowbanks.
Again trying to get rolling on the blog, so starting with a post on a weekend in Maine visiting Mimi and Papa. Michael visited his friend Colin in Chicago, hitting the blues clubs and catching up on old times. We decided to head north.
We started by dragging the poor kids around Freeport, getting that shopping out of the way. Got Nathan some new red pants since he was growing out of his old ones. Nathan isn't Nathan without his red pants!
Saturday we checked out the Rumpus Room, an awesome indoor playspace in Brunswick. It had every cool kids toy, the boys had to be dragged out of there for lunchtime.
Mini rollercoaster. Nathan rode this 20 times in a row.
Then Alex got in on the action.
Bouncy house!
Nathan and a new friend play market.
Ball pit heaven.
And the required train table.
After a much needed nap time, we were off for gelato and bowling. Even when it is below freezing, Gelato Fiasco is packed, we barely got a table.
Num num!
Alex's "cold" face.
We met Will, Lynn and their two boys at the Bowling Bowl in downtown Brunswick. It is an old candle pin bowling alley. Will and I took bowling lessons there when we were kids and were champions in the competitions (me only once, but Will was many times over!) It is still there with a new owner, and is such a great little place. We took over two lanes for an hour and the boys had fun clogging the gutters with balls, and knocking over a few pins in the process. Christopher was quite the bowler, he must get it from his Dad!
The owner said the boys could go halfway down to roll the ball, Lynn helping them out here...
Alex watching the ball verrrrrrrrrry slowly rolling away.
Cousins goofing off after :)
Sunday morning we met the Savages at the Freeport YMCA for open swim. The boys had a blast, no photos though with all that water around. We went over to the Savages for lunch. Nathan and Alex had a great time checking out all Christopher and Brooks' toys and doing a little dancing.
Nathan towing Christopher around.
Cousins having lunch.
Nathan started dancing shortly after I stopped taking the video, but Christopher and Alex have a great time :)
